I have used Fedora 8 now since last year, and i want my look and feel like Mac Leopard, just like my GM, Mr Tjatur.
So .. here the step by step.
First, install compiz fusion as follows:
For GNOME user :
# yum install compiz compiz-gnome compiz-bcop compiz-fusion compiz-fusion compiz-fusion-extras compiz-fusion-extras-gnome compiz compizconfig-python libcompizconfig libcompizconfig-devel gnome-compiz-manager
Or, if you are running KDE:
# yum install compiz compiz-kde compiz-bcop compiz-fusion compiz-fusion compiz-fusion-extras compiz-fusion-extras-gnome compiz compizconfig-python libcompizconfig libcompizconfig-devel gnome-compiz-manager kicker-compiz
That will install compiz fusion, and all of the extras that go with it. Next, we need to get some files. First, we will get CCSM from Koji, the server for Fedora Development. Then we’ll install the backends so that they work. Run the following:
# rpm -Uvh http://koji.fedoraproject.org/packages/ccsm/0.6.0/3.fc8/noarch/ccsm-0.6.0-3.fc8.noarch.rpm
or you can just write this command :
# yum install ccsm
For GNOME:
# rpm -Uvh http://koji.fedoraproject.org/packages/compizconfig-backend-gconf/0.6.0/2.fc8/i386/compizconfig-backend-gconf-0.6.0-2.fc8.i386.rpm
And for KDE:
# rpm -Uvh http://koji.fedoraproject.org/packages/compizconfig-backend-kconfig/0.6.0/1.fc8/i386/compizconfig-backend-kconfig-0.6.0-1.fc8.i386.rpm
And that should do it.
To start running your compiz, just call this command in your startup :
$ compiz-manager
And see the new look and feel in Fedora 8. Just like Leopard or Vista.
Note :
# : you should call this command with root priviledge (sudo)
$ : you should call this command use your normal account
